Every Veteran Has A Story By: Maryanne Dunne
I'm John an Army vet, and this is my song, I served my military duty against the Viet Cong.
My job was to join them with their dog tags, and zipped them up in body bags.
I did it tenderly, I did my best, to send to home to their final rest.
I returned to the states and drove a truck, but destiny would have it, I ran out of luck.
Every Vet has a story, each has a song, so sing it loud and sing it out strong.
I'm Johnny, an army vet, and this is my song, I served my military duty against the Viet Cong.
I dove into tunnels, can you imagine that, Flushing out the enemy, I was a tunnel rat.
No matter the job, no matter the title, every job was performed, each mission was vital.
Agent Orange took me, I was awfully sick, But blessed, the end for me came very quick.
Every Vet has a story, each has a song, so sing it loud and sing it out strong.
I'm Rob a Marine vet, and this is my song, I served my military duty against the Viet Cong.
I served as Recon at the Rock Pile, the enemy I tried not to meet, returning with shrapnel in my legs and rot on my feet.
I haven't forgot the POW nor the MIA, Someday we'll bring them all Home, I hope and I pray.
Despite the time and effort, and despite the cost, I designed a bike to commemorate the missing and lost.
Every Vet has a story, each has a song, so sing it loud and sing it out strong.
I'm John an Army vet, and this is my song, I served my military duty against the Viet Cong.
After Korea, I traveled to Nam to play in the band, but they gave me a weapon and stuck it in my hand.
I saved many men and earned some awards, but saving their lives was my true reward.
I struggle to walk and suck up the pain, My honor, my dignity and pride I maintain.
Every Vet has a story, each has a song, so sing it loud and sing it out strong.
So don't you ever look back and regret, the world will remember and "never forget"
